Mohawks fall short against Albany

AMSTERDAM — Tom Kretzler had a home run, double, three RBIs and scored two runs to lead the Albany Dutchmen to a 6-4 victory over the Amsterdam Mohawks in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park on Monday.

Will Stroud had a single, double and scored two runs for the Dutchmen, while Isaac Humphrey was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

George Rainer, Mike Handal and Ty Gallagher all had singles for Albany.

Davis Meche had a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth for Amsterdam.

C.J. Funk had a double and an RBI for the Mohawks, while Jake Reinisch and Matt Shaw each had singles.

The Mohawks are off until Thursday when they are scheduled to host Albany in their regular-season finale.
