Mohawks slip past Dutchmen 11-10
AMSTERDAM — The Amsterdam Mohawks took down the Albany Dutchmen in 11 innings by a score of 11-10 in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park on Tuesday night.
Amsterdam led 5-0 after three innings and 8-3 heading into the seventh.
However, the Dutchmen scored twice in the top of the seventh and three times in the top of the ninth to force extra innings.
After both teams scored once in the 10th, Amsterdam trailed 10-9 heading into the bottom of the 11th before scoring twice to earn the win.
C.J. Funk was 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the Mohawks, while Jake Reinisch was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Brett Coker was 2-for-5 with three runs scored for Amsterdam, Matt Shaw had a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored and Robbie Armitage and Kai Roberts each had a single and two RBIs.
Adam Zebrowski was 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and three runs scored for Albany, while Ryan McGee and Logan Beard each had a single, double and two RBIs. Jake Defayette and Kyle Vinci each had a double and an RBI for the Dutchmen.
Brendan Disonell earned the win on the mound for the Mohawks.
The Mohawks travel to Utica today to face the Blue Sox at Murnane Field at 6:45 p.m.
