Mohawks push win streak to five games
AMSTERDAM — The Amsterdam Mohawks extended their win streak to five games with a home win over Oneonta on Friday, a doubleheader sweep at Albany on Saturday, a road win at Glens Falls on Sunday.
On Friday, Amsterdam piled up 12 hits in an 8-4 victory over Oneonta.
Robbie Armitage had a single, double and two RBIs for the Mohawks, while C.J. Funk had two doubles, scored two runs and two RBIs. Jake Reinsch had a double, single and an RBI, and Brett Coker had a single, double and scored two runs.
Brenden Harris had a home run for Oneonta, while Isaiah Corry had a triple.
The Mohawks are scheduled to host Albany today at 6:35 p.m. at Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park.
In Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of Albany, the Mohawks won both games by scores of 3-0.
In the first game, Matt Shaw was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, an RBI and a run scored, while Armitage was 2-for-3
Funk also had a home run for the Mohawks.
Kyle Vinci was 2-for-3 for Albany.
In the second game, Amsterdam scored all three of the game’s runs in the top of the second inning.
Reinisch and Bryce Eblin had a double and scored a run for the Mohawks, while Reinisch had a single and scored a run. Coker added a single for Amsterdam.
Will Stroud, Nick Schwartz and Ben Lavery all had singles for Albany.
The Mohawks completed their weekend with a 9-3 victory over Glens Falls at East Field.
Keith Jones was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Amsterdam, whille Danny Mosher had a single, double and scored two runs.
Jackson Phinney was 2-for-2 with solo home run and two runs scored for the Mohawks, Shaw was 2-for-5 with two runs scored, and Slate Alford had a single and two RBIs.
Cory Listing had two singles for the Dragons.
