Area riders post strong showings at Royal

CAROGA LAKE — Johnstown’s Hayden Zelich and Gloversville’s Sal Attigliato Jr. took home a pair of victories apiece from Supercross action Wednesday night at Royal Mountain.

Attigliato won the 50cc open/E bike and the 50cc 4-to-6 year old division, while Zelich topped the podium in the 122-250 Amateur and the 122-Open Am to go with a second-place finish in the Schoolboy division.

Johnstown’s Maxx Miller won the Mini 60 5-11 year old division, placed second in Mini 80 9-11 and was fifth in Junior Mini 9-11.

Bennett Melita, of Johnstown, won the Mini 80 12-to-15 year old division and was second in Open Mini and fourth in the Schoolboy class, while Brennan Hart won the 50cc 7-to-8 year old E Bike division and placed second in the 50cc Open/E Bike class and Seth Garrison of Amsterdam’s won the 122-Open Novice class.

Johnstown’s Brandon Handy won the 122-250 Amateur division, while Kadin Oshaughnessy of Gloversville on the Stock Pit Bike division and Michaelm Ward won the Plus 50 Open and was fourth in the Plus 30 Expert class.

Amsterdam’s Matthew Hirschfeld won the Quad Expert division, while Northville’s Eric Junquera placed second in the class.

Stephen Young, of Johnstown, placed second in the 122-Open Novice and was fifth in 122-250 novice, while Devin Buyce placed third and Brandon Dygert fifth in the 122-125 2-stroke division.

Blaire Wilson, of St. Johnsville, placed second in the Mini Quad 50 and Mini Quad 51-90 divisions, while Johnstown’s Kip Simonds place second in the Jr. Mini 9-11 and Mini 60 7-11 divisions.

Johnstown’s Bradley Russo finished second in the 50cc E Bike division and was fifth in the 50cc Open/E Bike class, while Mayfield’s Jordan Miller placed second in the Quad Amateur division and was fourth in Modified Pit Bike and Amsterdam’s Joey Vitalis placed third in Modified Pit Bike.

Mia Richard and Kendra Cary placed second and third respectively in Quad Schoolboy 12-16 competition, while Mathieu Dettenrieder was fifth in the Schoolboy division.

Gloversville’s Anthony Attigliato placed third in 122-250 Amateur, while Tyler Dygert of Canajoharie placed third in 122-250 Novice.

Anderson Giardino, of Johnstown, placed third in Mini Quad 50, while Maverick Manzer placed fifth in the 50cc 4-to-6 year old division and Calvin Dopp finished fourth in Open Mini 10-16.

Broadalbin’s Paul Gifford finished third in Stock Pit Bike competition, while Skyler Olmstead was fourth and Joe Burden fifth in the class.

Keith Orr, of Gloversville, placed fourth in the Plus 40 Amateur division, while Kolby Krutz of Amsterdam and Zachary VanNostrand of Mayfield placed fourth and fifth respectively in the Quad Novice division.
