Terwilliger, Magliocca key Patriots win over Glens Falls

BROADALBIN — After opening the season with three straight home games, the Broadalbin-Perth Patriots have found their home diamond a nice place to be.

For the second straight game, the Patriots have put together a solid performance, defeating Glens Falls 11-2 in Foothills Council action Friday at Broadalbin-Perth High School.

Patriots starting pitcher Jake Terwilliger allowed one hit and struck out five batters in four innings of work on the mound and added a pair of doubles, two stolen bases and four RBIs at the plate. Mike Magliocca added a double, three walks, two stolen bases and scored three runs for B-P, which stole 10 bases in the game.

Carson Rath led Glens Falls with a triple, while Tanner Sokol had a double.

Broadalbin-Perth (4-1 overall, 3-1 Foothills) will take to the road for a non-league game today against Hoosic Valley before heading to Johnstown on Monday night to face the Sir Bills under the lights at Johnstown High School.

JOHNSTOWN — Ethan Euler picked up the lone hit for Johnstown as the Sir Bills dropped a Foothills Council decision to Queensbury Friday at Johnstown High School.

Logan Smith led the Spartans with a double and a single and three runs scored.

Johnstown (0-5 overall, 0-4 Foothills) will return to diamond at 7 p.m. Monday to take on Broadalbin-Perth in a league matchup. The Sir Bills’ non-league game scheduled for tonight against Fort Plain has been postponed.

HUDSON FALLS — Dane Dillenback pitched a complete game shut out for Gloversville against Hudson Falls Friday at Hudson Falls High School.

Dillenback scattered four hits, struck out nine and walked two to go with a single, stolen base and a run scored at the plate.

Andre Deumaga had two doubles for the Huskies, while Alex Payne doubled and singled and Cole Raczynski picked up two RBIs with a single.

Connor Rogers had two singles for Hudson Falls, while Mike Sullivan and Noah Tyler both singled to account the the Tigers’ offense.

Gloversville (3-1 overall, 3-1 Foothills) will go for its fourth-straight victory Monday when the Huskies host Queensbury at 4:30 p.m. at Husky Field.

Carson Cotugno was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Rams, who improved to 1-2 overall and 1-2 in Foothills Council play.

Otto Bolduc and Ashton Morris each had singles for Schuylerville (2-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills).

FONDA — The Braves plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead and held off Galway for their third-straight victory Friday at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Kyle Lawyer went 2-for-3 for Fonda-Fultonville with a pair of singles, while Justin Kearns, Zenmatsu Myles and Cole Hanson all singled and Manson and Derek Duval added RBIs.

Mike Zellezniak had a pair of singles for Galway while Eric Zellezniak added a single and an RBI.

MIDDLEBURGH — Austin VanGorder had a double, single, five RBIs, two stolen bases, and two runs scored to lead Fort Plain to victory over Middleburgh Friday at Middleburgh High School.

The victory was number 798 for veteran Fort Plain coach Craig Phillips,

Troy Butler added a triple, two singles and four RBIs, while Griffin McGinnis had a double and a single and two RBIs and Stephen Gray added two singles, two stolen bases and three runs scored.

Will Churchill led Middleburgh with a double and two runs scored and Josh Reinhart added two singles for the Knights.

The Hilltoppers (4-0 overall, 4-0 WAC) will look to pick up win 799 for Coach Phillips Monday when they host Berne-Knox-Westerlo at 4:30 p.m. at Phillips Field at the Fort Plain Sports Complex.
