Sturdivant competing for UAlbany track
LOWELL, Mass. — Amsterdam graduate Omahri Sturdivant helped the University at Albany win its 16th straight America East outdoor track and field title Saturday at UMass Lowell’s Cushing Field Complex.
UAlbany, which won eight events, finished with 139 points, while host UMass Lowell was second with 115.5 points.
Sturdivant was second in the triple jump with a wind-aided leap of 50-10.
He also was part of the winning 4 x 400 relay team that posted a time of 3:16.06.
The Albany women’s team won its 12th-straight America East outdoor track and field title, scoring 200 points behind eight event victories.
It was UAlbany’s first conference title in any sport since indoor track swept the 2020 team titles Feb. 21-22, 2020.
The Great Danes host their lone home meet of the 2021 season on Friday.
