Mayfield scores non-league victory over Lady Bills

JOHNSTOWN — Jillian Botch struck out nine and hit a solo home run to lead Mayfield to a 10-5 victory over Johnstown in non-league softball action Thursday night at Johnstown High School.

Botch added a single and three RBIs, while Alexis Broderick had a triple, single and an RBI and Kat Agerter had a double, single and two RBIs to go with a triple and two RBIs from Heather Ginter and two singles and two runs scored by Kelsey Meca.

Grace Giarizzo led Johnstown with a triple and a single to go with an RBI and a run scored, while Bentley Lane had two singles and Sarah Pratt and Haley Wilson both singled.

Mayfield (2-1 overall, 0-1 WAC) will travel to play Galway Monday, while Johnstown will host Gloversville at tonight under the lights at Johnstown High School. Game times is slated for 7 p.m.

FORT PLAIN –Julia Olsen had a three-run home run to help Schoharie to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Fort Plain-Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville on Wednesday.

Allison Gallagher had two singles, a double and scored three runs for Schoharie (2-1 overall), while Savannah Traverse scored four runs.

Abby Blakeslee and Jade Dygert each had singles for Fort Plain-OESJ (0-3 overall, 0-3 WAC)
