Johnstown overpowers Gloversville 20-4 for Foothills win

JOHNSTOWN — Powered by a two-home run, seven-RBI performance from Camille Gray, the Johnstown Lady Bills defeated Gloversville 20-4 in Foothills Council softball action Friday at Johnstown High School.

Bella Bermas had a triple and three singles for the Lady Bills, while Isabel Ropeter had a triple and a single and Grace Giarizzo homered, singled and drove in three runs. Haylee Webb added three RBIs on two hits and Bentley Lane had three singles and three runs scored.

The Lady Bills sent 19 batters to the plate in a 15-run fourth inning.

Maddy Avery, Miracle Conyne and Miranda Brown all singled for Gloversville.

BROADALBIN — Jordyn Wozniak had a home run, double and three RBIs to lead Amsterdam to victory over Broadalbin-Perth Friday at Broadalbin-Perth High School.

Shelby LaMont added a home run, two singles and five RBIs for the Lady Rams, while Lyanis Cintron had four hits and two RBIs.

Kiaira Tomlinson and Kelsey Hinderliter collected the long hits for Broadalbin-Perth, both singles.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Hannah Breen pitched a perfect game to lead South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Schuylerville.

Breen struck out 13, walked none and allowed no hits in seven innings.

Christine Mallette was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored for the Bulldogs, while Molly Rafferty was 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Jillian Capozucca had a single, double, an RBI and scored a run for South Glens Falls (4-0 overall, 4-0 Foothills), while Vanessa LeBrun and Courtney Robarge each had two singles and an RBI.

Schuylerville slipped to 1-4 overall and 1-4 in Foothills play with the loss.

MIDDLEBURGH — Rylee Herron had a triple and an RBI and Marissa Wilder added a double and a RBI for Fort Plain/Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, but it was not enough as Middleburgh held on for the league victory Friday at Middleburgh High School.

Kaitlyn DelGado five strike outs and two earned runs.

Wells 21, Indian Lake/Long Lake 20

WELLS — Sarah Smith had a game-winning, three-run double to lead Wells to a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference victory over Indian Lake/Long Lake on Thursday.

Smith finished with four hits for the Lady Indians, who posted their first victory of the season.

Layla Rust also had four hits for Wells (1-3 overall, 1-3 MVAC), while Hally Welch had three hits. Alexis Brooks, Macy Orr and Emma Hoffman each had two hits for the Lady Indians.

Emily DeShaw had four hits for Indian Lake/Long Lake, while Alexis Jackson and Makenzi Keller each had three hits.
