Hoyt nets 6 goals to help Sir Bills improve to 5-0

STILLWATER — Ryan Hoyt connected for six goals and three assists to power Johnstown to a 14-1 victory over Stillwater-Mechanicville in Wasaren League boys lacrosse action Thursday night at Stillwater High School.

The Sir Bills improved to 5-0 with the victory and have outscored their opponents 74-6 this season.

“Our defense and goalie play had a strong day holding their opponent to one goal,” Johnstown coach Scott Petrie said.

Kyle Salamack collected five saves in goal for Johnstown, while Trey Loucks picked up a save.

Caden Mureness had three goals and an assist for the Sir Bills, while Bryce Mureness had two goals and two assists to go with two goals and three assists from Matt Wheelis and a goal and two assists from Chase Benton.

Benton also won 14 of 16 faceoffs, while Jack Germain was 2-for-2 and Christian Gibson won his lone faceoff.

SCHUYLERVILLE — The Black Horses got four goals apiece from Carson Griffin and Zach Bowen in their Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam-Broadalbin-Perth Thursday at Schuylerville High School.

Griffin added four assists to his game credits, while Bowen added two assists and Colin Garry made two saves in goal for Schuylerville.

Don Blair collected seven saves in goal for Amsterdam-Broadalbin-Perth, while Andy Welch had recorded four shots and Brady Naish had two attempts.
