H.S. Baseball Roundup: Patriots cruise to 12-1 victory over Sir Bills

JOHNSTOWN — Mike Magliocca pitched 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to help Broadalbin-Perth to a 12-1 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council baseball game Monday at Johnstown High School.

Magliocca struck out nine, walked none and allowed one hit for the Patriots.

Jake Terwilliger was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored for B-P, while Ryan Savoie and T.J. Platt each had two singles, an RBI and two runs scored. Luke Barnhart was 2-for-3 for the Patriots, while Luke Tambasco and Bennett Armstrong each had a single, RBI and a run scored. Peyton Bogusz added a double and two RBIs for B-P.

Jared Stewart had the lone hit for Johnstown, and Ethan Euler scored the only run.

Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to host Johnstown on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

GLOVERSVILLE — Tyler Spaulding had two singles, two RBIs and scored a run to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council victory over Gloversville at Husky Field.

Jason Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Spartans, while Ethan Starr had a double and an RBI. Adrian Caron had a single and a run scored for Queensbury and Matthew Conlon added a single.

Conlon also picked up the win on the mound, allowing four hits, striking out five and walking one in six innings.

Alex Payne had a double for Gloversville, while Kyle Robare had a single and an RBI. Dane Dillenback and Doug Cook also had singles for the Huskies.

SCOTIA — Carson Cotugno and Noah Marshall combined on a one-hitter to help Amsterdam post a Foothills Council victory over Scotia-Glenville.

Carson Cotugno struck out six, walked one and allowed one hit in four innings, while Marshall strick out five, walked none and allowed no hits in three innings of work.

C.J. Durinick was 3-for-3 with four runs scored for the Rams, while Spencer Cotugno was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Tommy Ziskin was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Carson Cotugno and Noah Marshall all had a single and a RBI. Matt Hughes had a double and an RBI for Amsterdam, while Ryan Reagan had a double and scored two runs.

Derek Robinson had the lone hit for Scotia-Glenville.

FORT PLAIN — Austin VanGorder struck out 10 in six innings of work to lead Fort Plain to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

It was the 799th career victory for Fort Plain coach Craig Phillips.

Evan Crouse had an RBI triple, a single and scored two runs for the Hilltoppers, while Stephen Gray had an RBI single and an RBI double. Matt Travis had a double, RBI single and scored two runs for Fort Plain, while Troy Butler had a single and a triple.

Quinn Toomey had an RBI single for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while William Boltri scored two runs.

Fort Plain (5-0 overall, 5-0 WAC) is scheduled to travel to Mayfield today for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

Zach Suits had a single and scored a run for Canajoharie, and Keegan Meyers and Riley Montanye each had a single.

Tyler Daus had a double, RBI and scored a run for Fonda-Fultonville, while Justin Kearns had a single and scored a run. Derek Duval and Riley Cole each had singles for the Braves.
