JHS grad Queeney scores in Sage loss

PITTSFORD — Russell Sage College’s women’s lacrosse team travelled to Western New York to face the No. 9 ranked Cardinals of St. John Fisher College. The Cardinals improved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8 after beating the Gators, 24-1 on Saturday. The loss puts Sage at 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the league.

SJFC led 16-1 at the half as the Gators got a goal from rookie attacker Alexandra Queeney (Johnstown). Queeney leads the Gators in scoring this spring with her seven points on six goals with an assist.

Sage returns to action on April 10 hosting Nazareth College in a 1 p.m. Empire 8 match-up.
