JHS field hockey loses to South High
SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Jillian Willis scored her second goal of the game with 1:17 left in the first overtime to lift South Glens Falls to a 3-2 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council field hockey game Monday.
Lauren Willis also scored for the Bulldogs.
Emily Fleming and Anna Lee scored for Johnstown, while Lee and Taryn Ringer each had an assist.
Fleming opened the scoring with 2:35 left in the first quarter on a penalty corner with assists from Ringer and Lee.
Jillian Willis tied the game at 1-1 with 2:10 left in the opening quarter with an unassisted goal for South Glens Falls.
Lee gave Johnstown the lead back with 2:59 left in the third quarter with an unassisted goal to make it 2-1.
With 6:38 left in regulation, Lauren Willis scored for the Bulldogs to send the game into overtime tied at 2-2.
Jillian Willis netted the game-winning goal in the first OT for South Glens Falls.
Both teams finished with 22 shots and Johnstown held an 11-8 edge in penalty corners.
Emilia Haverly made 15 saves for the Lady Bills.
Johnstown (7-1 overall, 6-1 Foothills) is slated to travel to Bethlehem today for a 4:30 p.m. non-league contest.
