H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Huskies sweep Lady Bills to remain unbeaten

JOHNSTOWN — Macey Salvione finished with 17 kills, 11 digs and five aces to lead Gloversville to a 3-0 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council volleyball match Monday at Johnstown High School.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-20.

Aireana Muhlberger had 25 assists and three aces for Gloversville, Maddy Avery posted 12 kills, seven digs and five aces, and Alana Biasini notched 11 service points, four digs and three aces. Zoie Tesi finished with five digs and two kills for the Huskies and Emily Bradt added three digs and an ace.

Bri Lawton finished with eight digs, four service points, two kills, one ace and one assist for Johnstown, while Anika Byrnes posted five digs, two kills and a block.

Gloversville (9-0 overall, 7-0 Foothills) is slated to host Amsterdam on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Johnstown (2-4 overall, 2-3 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Scotia-Glenville on Thursday for a 6 p.m. match.

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Amsterdam 0

BROADALBIN — Lily Mitchell finished with 18 assists, eight aces and one kill to help Broadalbin-Perth to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam on Monday.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-11.

Sophia Rogers had nine kills, six aces and three digs for B-P, while Kiaira Tomlinson and Shelby Fenton each recorded four kills.

Payton Hoefs recorded eight service points, one ace and one kill for Amsterda, while JoJo Lopez played well defensively.

Galway 3, Middleburgh 0

MIDDLEBURGH — Julia Reedy finished with 15 kills and four aces to lead Galway to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Middleburgh.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-5, 25-15 and 28-26.

Amber Kolpakas posted 10 kills and two aces for Galway, Grace O’Brien notched 13 assists, six kills, three blocks and two aces, and Katy Kurtzner added 21 digs.

Galway (8-3 overall, 6-0 WAC) is slated to travel to Mayfield on Wednesday for a 5:45 p.m. match.

Middleburgh is scheduled to travel to Duanesburg today.

Center State Conference

Dolgeville 3, Utica Academy of Science 0

DOLGEVILLE — Rylee Lamphere posted 11 aces, eight kills, five digs and five kills to help Dolgeville to a sweep of Utica Academy of Science.

The Blue Devils won by scores of 25-5, 25-9 and 25-18.

Morgan Beaulieu had nine aces and a kill for Dolgeville (1-0 overall), while Brianna Bruce posted seven kills, four aces, one block and one dig.

Mackenzie Farquhar posted three aces for the Blue Devils, Laikyn Cramer-Snowman had three kills and one digs, and Madisen Gorinshek had two kills and an assist.
