H.S. Volleyball Roundup: B-P sweeps Scotia

BROADALBIN — Kiaira Tomlinson finished with 10 aces and six kills to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 victory over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council volleyball match Monday.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-15, 25-19 and 25-20.

Lena Minkler recorded 13 assists, four aces and two kills for B-P (3-3 overall, 3-2 Foothills), while Sophia Rogers had six kills, two aces and one block.

Shanna Ludovici finished with four assists, three aces and one kill for Scotia-Glenville, while Mia Wood recorded six assists and two kills. Gabriela Harrigan notched 10 digs, six aces and two kills for the Tartans, and Keeley Kristel added four kills and two blocks.

Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to host Johnstown on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.


Niskayuna 3, Galway 1

NISKAYUNA — Cat Schiavi finished with 25 kills to lead Niskayuna to a non-league win over Galway on Saturday.

The Silver Warriors lost the first set, 23-25, before winning the final three sets by scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-23.

Katie Atchinson posted 47 assists for Niskayuna (5-1 overall), while Laura Mason added 34 digs.

Julia Reedy posted 16 kills, three blocks and three aces for Galway (4-3 overall), while Amber Kolpakas had 11 kills and two blocks.

Katy Kurtzner finished with 24 digs for the Golden Eagles, while Diana Colangelo and Trishelle Oliver each had six blocks.

Galway is scheduled to host Canajoharie-Fort Plain today at 11:30 a.m.
