Girls Soccer Roundup: Northville shuts out Canajoharie

CANAJOHARIE — Kerrigan Groff scored twice for Northville in a 4-0 victory over Canajoharie in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer contest Monday.

Kaytelenn VanHeusen and Grace Forsey each had a goal and an assist for the Lady Falcons, while Ciara Thompson added an assist.

Emma Peck made six saves to notch the shutout in goal for Northville, which outshot the Cougars by a 10-6 margin.

Ashlynn Johnson (4 saves) and ShellyAnn Hemmes (3 saves) shared time in goal for Canajoharie.

Northville (4-1 overall, 4-1 WAC) is scheduled to travel to Fonda-Fultonville on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

Canajoharie is slated to travel to Mayfield on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

OESJ 1, Fonda-Fultonville 1

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Talia Anderson scored the lone goal for Fonda-Fultonville in a Western Athletic Conference draw with Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Ashley Engle scored the lone goal for the Lady Wolves on an assist from Alexis Klock.

Anderson Eggleston made seven saves for OESJ, which outshot Fonda-Fultonville by an 18-10 margin.

Emma Crahan made six saves for the Lady Braves.

Mayfield 5, Fort Plain 1

FORT PLAIN — Jordan Miller scored three goals to lead Mayfield to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Fort Plain.

Jill Botch and Kat Agerter also scored for the Lady Panthers, while Kelsey Meca added an assist.

“The girls played great, I told them to shoot and they did, with the most shots on goal we’ve had all season,” Mayfield coach Maris Logan said. “Fort Plain’s goalie was given some work and had some great saves.”

Marissa Wilder scored the lone goal for Fort Plain, which as outshot by a 41-8 margin.

Marissa Willie made seven saves for Mayfield.

On Friday, Fort Plain earned a 2-2 draw with Middleburgh.

Galway 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

GALWAY — Izzy Mancini and Anna Miesenburg each had a goal and an assist to help Galway post a 3-0 Western Athletic Conference victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Taylor Germain also scored for the Golden Eagles, while Anna Spadaro added an assist.

Hannah French made 12 saves for Galway.

Kaelyn LoBalbo posted 12 stops for Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Schoharie 8, Mekeel Christian 0

SCHOHARIE — Katie Krohn finished with three goals and an assist to lead Schoharie to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Haley Drinon posted two goals and two assists for the Indians, while Megan Krohn had a goal and an assist. Morgan Phelan and Briana Repscher also scored for Schoharie.

Maddie Bland made four saves to post the shutout in goal for the Indians.

Promise Mitchell made 10 saves for Mekeel Christian.

Foothills Council

Scotia-Glenville 6, Glens Falls 0

GLENS FALLS — Lucy Crounse finished with two goals and an assist to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Glens Falls.

Sage Luke had a goal and three assists for the Tartans, while Brooklyn Drago and Ella Drake also scored. Scotia-Glenville also benefitted from an own goal by Glens Falls.

Kortney Clark made three saves to post the shutout in goal for the Tartans.
