Boys Soccer Roundup: Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville blanks Fonda-Fultonville, 6-0
FONDA — Mason Snell and Jordan Simzer each scored two goals to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a 6-0 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest Monday at Boshart Field.
Andrew Snell had a goal and three assists for the Wolves, who led 4-0 at halftime on their way to the win.
Dylan Barnes also scored for OESJ, while Max Christensen and Jesse Walrath each had an assist.
Travis LaFountain made two saves to post the shutout in goal for the Wolves, who outshot the Braves by a 21-4 margin.
Jacob Sisco made nine stops for Fonda-Fultonville.
Mayfield 2, Fort Plain 0
MAYFIELD — Jacob Petoff had a goal and an assist to help Mayfield to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Fort Plain.
Brice Williams also scored for the Panthers, who outshot the Hilltoppers by a 7-2 margin.
Aiden Martuscello finished with two saves to post the shutout in goal for Mayfield.
Robert Jordan made five saves for Fort Plain.
Northville 5, Canajoharie 1
NORTHVILLE — Curtis Arnold had two goals and three assists to lift Northville to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Canajoharie.
Wyatt Sira, Miles Weaver and Josiah Jensen also scored for the Falcons, while Jacob Frank added an assist.
Braden Greenslete scored the lone goal for Canajoharie on an assist from Cody Haig.
Daniel VanNostrand and Landon Frasier combined to make three saves for Northville (5-2 overall, 5-2 WAC).
Andrew Meka and Will Douglass combined to make eight saves for Canajoharie (2-4 overall, 2-4 WAC).
Galway 10, BKW/Duanesburg 0
BERNE — Braden Boudreau finished with five goals and an assist to power Galway to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg.
Charlie Clarke scored twice for the Golden Eagles, while Rowan Smith had a goal and four assists. Casey Clarke recorded a goal and an assist for Galway, while Eben Perkins also scored. Chris Maher contributed two assists for the Golden Eagles, while Noah Flint and Mike Zelezniak each added one assist.
Henry Flint made three saves to post the shutout in goal for the Golden Eagles, who finished with a 27-3 advantage in shots.
Mekeel Christian 11, Schoharie 4
SCHOHARIE — Len’s Lima netted a hat trick and had two assists to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Schoharie.
Lima now has 99 career goals for the Lions.
Eli Lillenthal had two goals and an assist for Mekeel Christian, while Danny Seredensky and Luke Kniese each scored twice. Toby Hvizdak and Wokie Abbatiello also scored for the Lions.
Connor Dietz had all four goals for Schoharie and Cameron Hotaling assisted on all four.
Middleburgh 8, Bishop Gibbons 0
SCHENECTADY — Austin Johns scored five goals to power Middleburgh to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.
Kaurice Bell, Andrew Johns and Nick Wood also scored for the Knights.
Ian Hoop posted the shutout in goal for Middleburgh.
