Boys Soccer Roundup: Northville boys blank Fort Plain
FONDA — Three different players scored for Northville in a 3-0 victory over Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest at Fonda-Fultonville’s Boshart Field on Monday.
Wyatt Sira, Jacob Frank and Landon Ginter all scored for the Falcons in what was the season opener for both teams.
Curtis Arnold had two assists for Northville, while Josiah Jensen added on assist.
Landon Frasier made one save to post the shutout win in goal for Northville, which outshot Fort Plain by a 19-3 margin.
Robert Jordan made six saves for the Hilltoppers.
Northville (1-0 overall, 1-0 WAC) is scheduled to face Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnstown today at Fonda-Fultonville at 3:30 p.m.
Fort Plain (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC) is slated to face OESJ on Thursday at Fonda-Fultonville at 5:30 p.m.
Galway 8, BKW/Duanesburg 0
COLONIE — Charlie Clarke scored three goals and had two assists to power Galway to a victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest Monday at Afrim’s Sports Park.
Braden Boudreau posted a goal and three assists for the Golden Eagles, while Rowan Smith finished with a goal and an assist. Chris Maher, Colin Anderson and Anthony Powers also scored for Galway, while Sam Neahr added an assist.
Henry Flint made two saves to post the shutout in goal for Galway (3-0 overall, 3-0 WAC), which outshot Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg by a 20-3 margin.
Mekeel Christian 11, Schoharie 0
COLONIE — Len’s Lima finished with four goals and two assists to power Mekeel Christian Academy to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Schoharie at Afrim’s Sports Park.
Nathan Lilienthal scored twice for the Lions, while Eli Lilienthal had a goal and an assist. Wookie Abbatiello, Domenico Famiano, Franky McCleneghen and Daniel Seredensky also scored for Mekeel Christian.
Justin Davidson made four saves to post the shutout in goal for Mekeel Christian.
Cody Hellstrom made seven saves for Schoharie.
Middleburgh 10, Bishop Gibbons 4
COLONIE — Andrew Johns recorded four goals and two assists to lead Middleburgh to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons at Afrim’s Sports Park.
Austin Johns posted three goals and an assist for the Knights, while Kaurice Bell added two goals and two assists. Nate Wood also scored for Middleburgh, while Eric Pickering had an assist.
Jason Ford scored twice for Bishop Gibbons, while Jake Della Villa and Nicholas Gosh also scored.
Ian Hoop notched four saves for Middleburgh, while Andrew Baaki made seven stops for Bishop Gibbons.
