Shader’s 22 leads Galway past Corinth

GALWAY — The Galway Golden Eagles picked up their second win in as many night, defeating Corinth 57-26 in Saratoga County League boys basketball action Tuesday at Galway High School.

Brendan Shader paced Galway with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Henry Flint delivered 13 points for the Golden Eagles, while Myles Pleasants added five points to go with four points apiece from Rowan Smith and Braden Boudreau.

Nick Sorbera led Corinth (0-2) with 12 points, all from behind the 3-point arc, and nine rebounds.

Galway is slated to play a Saratoga County League series against Mechanicville, hosting the Red Raiders a 12:30 p.m. Friday and traveling to Mechicville on Saturday for an 11 a.m. game.

CORINTH — A 15-point third quarter put Corinth in front and the Tomahawks held on for the victory in Saratoga County League girls basketball action Tuesday at Corinth High School.

Emily Dingmon and Deandra Gill led Corinth with double-doubles. Dingmon hit for 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Dingmon finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Izzy Mancini and Morgan Drovin led Galway with 10 points apiece. The Golden Eagles connected for seven 3-pointers in the game.

Galway is slated to play a Saratoga County League series against Mechanicville, traveling to play Red Raiders an 11 a.m. game Friday and hosting to Mechicville Saturday at 11 a.m.
