Glen Ridge adds ESS to its schedule
FULTONVILLE — Along with announcing its opening day on May 2, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park announced an addition to the upcoming schedule.
The Empire Super Sprints are scheduled to return to the Ridge for the first time since 2011 on Aug. 8.
When the ESS ran at the Ridge on June 25, 2010, a record crowd turned out to watch NASCAR champion Tony Stewart finish third behind Lance Yonge and Jessica Zemken.
The group returned in 2011 with Bobby Varin, the track’s modified wins leader, picking up the E.S.S. win over Chuck Hebing, (who set the fastest lap ever recorded at the track in an Empire Super Sprint), Kevin Ward, Cory Sparks and Jason Barney.
Varin also won the modified feature that night.
