JOHNSTOWN — Roster depth proved to be the difference as the Fonda-Johnstown defeated Canajoharie-Fort Plain 85-83 in virtual swim action Wednesday afternoon.

Swimming at Johnstown High School, FoJo picked up four wins on the day, the 200-yard medley relay, 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle, but being able to put full lineups in each of the individual events proved to be the difference.

DJ Long picked up the victory in the 50-yard freestyle with his time of 28:42, while Connor Harding turned in the fast time of 6:14.86 in the 500-yard freestyle and Vincent Rizzo posted a 1:15.36 to win the 100-yard breaststroke.

The team of Scout Huckans, Rizzo, Harding and Long turned in the winning time of 2:02.59 in the 200-yard medley relay.

Swimming at the East Hill Elementary School in Canajoharie, Matthew Travis and Kurt Sunderland posted two individual victories apiece.

Travis turned in fast times in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.57) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.03).

Sunderland was fastest in the 200-yard individual medley with his time of 2:27.92 and the 100-yard backstrokes with a 1:09.89.

Jenna Trembley picked up the victory for Canajoharie-Fort Plain in the 100-yard freestyle with her time of 1:03.33.
