Gloversville bowlers open season with win

GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville Huskies opened their season Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over Amsterdam in Foothills Council bowling action Wednesday.

The match was bowled virtually with the Rams on their home alleys at Kelly’s Imperial Lanes in Amsterdam and Gloversville bowling at Arterial Lanes. The scores are sent to the league, which compiles the final results.

Mark Sgambato led Gloversville with his match-high 235-642, while Adrian Dorman rolled 225-627 and Riley Griffiths rolled 212-585 to go with a 230-585 from Adam Loveless.

Matt Sawitzki led Amsterdam with his 226-603 triple, while Kai Brennan rolled 224-595 and Mekhi Curry finished with a 228-591.

Gloversville (3-1) finished with team totals of 1,145, 1,183 and 1,146 for a 3,474 total, while Amsterdam (5-3) rolled 1,173, 1,059 and 1,130 for a 3,362 total.
