Area runners named Foothills Council all-stars

Several area runners were among those named to the recently announced Foothills Council cross country all-star team.

Amsterdam’s Trevor Dzikowicz and Johnstown’s Trey Naselli were named to the boys all-star team.

Dzikowicz was named to the second team, while Naselli was named honorable mention.

Broadalbin-Perth had Haley Tomlinson, Alex Brown and Emma Frasier named to the girls all-star team, while Johnstown’s Cole Krempa and Amsterdam’s Brooke Marshall also earned all-star honors.

Tomlinson, Brown and Krempa were named to the second team, while Marshall and Frasier were named honorable mention.

Boys

Scotia-Glenville and Queensbury each had three boys named first-team all-stars.

Noah Greski, Tyler Greene and Alex Tabano all earned first-team honors for the Tartans, who won the South Division title. Greski won the boys race at the Foothills Council championship meet.

Jack Hicks, Connor Wiekierak and Lance Hayes were named to the first team for Queensbury. which won the North Division regular-season title and the team title at the Foothills Council championship meet.

Rounding out the boys first team was South Glens Falls’ Cowen Leininger.

In addition to its first-team selections, Queensbury also had Noah Engel, Lucas Jenkin and Patrick Russell named to the second team.

Rounding out the second team were Schuylerville’s Patrick Mcgloine, Glens Falls’ Jack Putnam and Schuylerville’s Daryl Headen.

Queensbury’s Benjamin Jenkin, Liam Jones and Tyler Harrington were named honorable mention.

South Glens Falls’ had Dylan Sechler and Tillman Philo earn honorable-mention status, while Schuylerville’s Daniel Farbianiec and Cody Belden also earned honorable mention status.

Glens Falls’ Julian Stedman and Scotia-Glenville’s Allen Patrick rounded out the honorable-mention selections.

Girls

Scotia-Glenville, which won the South Division regular-season and Foothills Council championship titles, had Stephanie James, Erin Smith and Delaney Krogh named first-team all-stars.

James won the girls individual title at the Foothills Council championship meet.

Rounding out the first-team all-stars were Glens Falls’ Clara Avery, Queensbury’s Miranda Habshi, Schuylerville’s Alayna Wian and Queensbury’s Maddie Powers.

Earning second-team honors were Glens Falls’ Helena Trackey, Queensbury’s Hayley Benware, Schuylerville’s Nikki Stark and South Glens Falls’ Lily McNulty.

Scotia-Glenville had four runners named honorable mention as Sophia Allen, Kara Goldstein, Ashlee Greene and Karaline McCarthy were honored.

Rounding out the honorable-mention selections were Glens Falls’ Katherine Leiberth, Queensbury’s Anna Schuette, Glens Falls’ Sylvia Guillet and Schuylerville’s Lillian Letzring.
