Sir Bills top Huskies for second-straight win

GLOVERSVILLE — The Johnstown golf team picked up their second-straight Foothills Council victory, defeating host Gloversville 185-215 Thursday at Kingsboro Golf Club.

The Sir Bills’ William Gerlach led all scorers with his round of 41, while Aiden Greene carded a 47 and Cam Arminio and Wyatt Frasier both shot 49 for Johnstown. Carter Cheney finished with a round of 52 and Antonio DeMarco added a 54.

Cole Racynski led Gloversville with his 46, while Dillon Lamphere finished with a 59 and Bradley Wisniewski carded a 61.

Broadalbin-Perth 154, Amsterdam 164

GLOVERSVILLE — Broadalbin-Perth’s Connor Canale earned medalist honors with his low score of 36 and paced the Patriots to a 154-164 Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam Thursday at Holland Meadows Golf Course.

Colin Cotter and Nate Phillips added 39s for the Patriots, while Jake Terwilliger carded a 40.

CJ Durinick led Amsterdam with his round of 37, while Ryan Welch shot 41 and Lucca Quatrini and Andy Welch both finished with 43.

Western Athletic Conference

Galway 11 1/2, Fort Plain 3 1/2

BALLSTON SPA — Fort Plain’s Evan Crouse earned medalist honors with his round of 25 but it was not enough as Galway posted an 11 1/2-3 1/2 victory in six-hole Western Athletic Conference action Thursday at Pioneer Hills Golf Course.

Matt Smith and Eric Zelezniak led Galway with rounds of 28, while Sam Neahr shot 29, Matt Walker turned in a 36 to go with Henry Flint’s 37 and Myles Shippey’s 38.

Troy Butler and Owin Landry shot 37s for Fort Plain, while Quinnlan Brown turned in a 38, to go with Rob Rogers’ 41 and Brady Keane’s 42.
