Scotia-Glenville sweeps tennis doubleheader from Amsterdam

SCOTIA — The Scotia-Glenville girls tennis team improved to 8-1 overall and in the league sweeping a doubleheader from Amsterdam Saturday at the Scotia-Glenville High School courts.

The Lady Tartans won the opening match 6-1 and came back in the second to post a 7-0 victory.

Amsterdam’s Natalie Flint and Scotia-Glenville’s Sophia Velasco split their first singles matches, with Flint winning the first match 10-2 and Velasco winning the second 8-5.

Charlotte Tvelia, Cassie Cenzano, Emma Schaub and Maddie Cook were double winners on the day in singles action, while the teams of Piper Wiegert and Kaitlyn Blucher and Emma Mathes and Natalie McGlauflin won both of their doubles matches.
