Raiders compete in cross-country meet

DRYDEN — The 2020 Fulton-Montgomery Community College cross-country season kicked off on Saturday.

The Raiders traveled to Tompkins Cortland Community College to take part in the TC Panthers Invitational. Runners from six schools competed in the 5K and only one team was on the course at a time.

The FMCC teams raced with incomplete teams but had a solid day individually.

Kira Williams had a big day, winning the women’s race with a time of 22:56.9. Teammate Maria Fernandez finished 11th with a time of 36:13.8.

On the men’s side, Corning placed first in the team results.

FMCC’s Jonathon Hendley finished 15th with a time of 20:30, while Randy Spraker placed 22nd at 23:10 and Dakota Dingman at 38:35.

The Raiders will continue the Region III season on Saturday when they host the Raider Classic on the FMCC campus.
