FMCC runners post solid showings

NEWARK — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Finger Lakes on Saturday to take part in the third Region 3 race of the season.  

Both the men and women ran a challenging 5K course. 

FMCC’s Kira Williams won the women’s race for the third week in a row, with a time of 25:05. Maria Fernandez came across the finish line ninth with a time of 38:55.  

On the men’s side, Hunter Brignall from Finger Lakes won with a time of 18:04. 

Jon Hendley paced FMCC, placing 22nd with a time of 24:09 and Randy Spraker was right behind him in 23rd with a time of 24:11. Ryan Schopmeier finished 25th with a time of 25:39 and Dakota Dingman finished at 42:40.  

The Raiders will compete at Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday.
