FULTONVILLE — Through eight races this season, the 602 sportsman class had yet to see a repeat winner at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park.

That trend continued Sunday as Ryan Heath claimed his first victory of the season in the division Sunday.

Other winners on Sunday included Luke Horning (pro stocks), Stephen Gray (limited sportsman), Damon Anderson (street stocks), Brock Pinkerous (all-star slingshots), Cole Conrad (junior slingshots), Ken Hollenbeck (mini stock – dual cam) and Wayne Russell Jr. (mini stock – single cam).

The 602 sportsman division has been competitive all season long and this week was no different.

Of the 13 cars taking the green flag for the 30-lap feature just five of the competitors hadn’t visited victory lane.

Two of those drivers — Heath and Joe Orlando — started on the front row of this week’s feature.

Though he started on the pole, Heath had it anything but easy on his way to victory lane.

After leading the first five laps, Heath lost the lead on a lap-six restart to Tucker O’Connor.

The two battled at the front of the field for the next several laps before Heath regained the lead only to have Andrew Buff challenge him at the front for the remaining laps.

Heath held on for this win — his first career victory — in the division. Buff finished second, O’Connor was third, Joe Orlando as fourth and Travis Green was fifth.

In the 20-lap pro stock feature, Horning surged to the lead on the fifth lap on his way to his third win of the season.

After an accident in his heat race, Andy Graves crossed the line second after starting 11th in the feature. However, Graves was light at the scales, giving Beau Ballard the runner-up finish. Tanner Warner was third, Jim Normoyle was fourth and Buck Gasner completed the top five.

The street stock feature saw Anderson claim his fourth win of the season and 10th career victory.

Kenny Allen was second, Adam Tranka was third, John Williams was fourth and Harley Shepard completed the top five.
