Johnstown graduate Maddie Etherton saw her freshman season on the Norwich University women’s lacrosse team cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.

Etherton played in all four games for the Cadets, finishing with two goals and an assist. Norwich went 0-4 in its first four games this season, losing to Castleton (18-15), Plattsburgh (20-14), Oneonta (24-4) and Potsdam (17-11).

Etherton, a 2019 Johnstown graduate, played for the Lady Bills field hockey and lacrosse teams.

She wasthe lacrosse team captain in her senior year and field hockey captain in both her junior and senior seasons. Etherton was named a second-team Foothills Council all-star in girls lacrosse in her junior season and a first-team Foothills all-star in her senior season with the Lady Bills. Etherton also helped Johnstown win the Section II Class D title. She was a first-team Foothills Council all-star in field hockey in both her junior and senior seasons.
