Northville advances to semifinals

ARGYLE — Jaycee Frasier and Brytney Moore each scored 12 points to lead sixth-seeded Northville to a 56-45 victory over third-seeded Northville in a Section II Class D quarterfinal game at Argyle High School on Tuesday.

The Lady Falcons jumped out to a 22-9 lead after one quarter and led 33-17 at the half on their way to the victory.

Kerrigan Groff scored 11 points for the Lady Falcons, while Grace Forsey and Madalyn Biche each had six points.

Northville also won the regular-season meeting between the Western Athletic Conference rivals, posting 50-39 win at home over the Golden Knights on Feb. 4.

Taylor VanAuken scored nine points to lead Bishop Gibbons, which won the Section II Class D title last year.

Northville (12-10 overall) advances to next Monday’s semifinals to face seventh-seeded Whitehall at Ballston Spa High School at 6 p.m.

The Railroaders upset second-seeded Argyle, 52-38, in their quarterfinal contest Tuesday. Zoe Eggleston led Whitehall with 18 points, while Kyrie Smith added 10 points.

Shelby Caprood scored 15 points to lead Argyle.
