Gloversville finishes third at Class A tourney

SCHENECTADY — The Gloversville bowling team placed third at the Section II Class A bowling Tournament Thursday at Boulevard Bowl.

The Huskies compiled a 6,153 team total, finishing behind champion South Glens Falls with 6,428 and runner-up Columbia with 6,382. Amsterdam placed 10th in the tournament with 5,781 total pins.

Mark Sgambato led Gloversville with 1,296 total pins, while Aidan Carter rolled 1,271 and Ryan Loveless finished with 1,241 total pins. A.J. Dorman rolled 1,181 for a six-game total, while Riley Griffiths finished with 1,164 total pins.

Jon Wolff led Amsterdam with a 1,266 six-game block, while Kai Brennan rolled 1,230 and Donavan Lazier finished with 1,134 total pins to go with 1.097 from Mekhi Curry.

Will Bickford led champion South Glens Falls with a 277-768 triple in the afternoon session to finish 1,397 total pins, while Mycah Brunnell rolled a 79-771 triple in the afternoon session to finish with 1,394 total pins.
