FMCC women top Hudson Valley, 78-59

TROY — Niaimani Marshall finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to lead Fulton-Montgomery Community College to a 78-59 victory over Hudson Valley Community College in a Mountain Valley Conference women’s basketball game Wednesday.

The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 45-30 lead at the half on their way to the win.

Hasjina Gaddy had 19 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and two assists for FMCC, while Kendra Lavery added 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Emily Erickson and Grace VanRoy each scored 18 points to lead HVCC. VanRoy also pulled down 14 rebounds for the Vikings.

FMCC (12-10 overall) will host Cayuga Community College at 1 p.m. on Saturday in a first-round Region III Tournament game. The Lady Raiders posted a 62-47 home victory over Cayuga in their regular-season meeting on Dec. 11.

The winner will advance to face third-seeded Herkimer College in the quarterfinals.
