FMCC basketball splits with Clinton

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College basketball teams closed out their regular season home scheduled Sunday, splitting with Clinton Community College at the FMCC Campus.

The Lady Raiders turned back Clinton 74-54, while the men dropped an 89-70 decision to the Cougars.

Niamani Marshall and Hasijna Gaddy posted double-doubles for the Lady Raiders.

Marshall led the way with 21 points and 13 rebounds to go with three assists, while Gaddy added 17 points and 13 rebounds. Kerri Hauser finished with eight points, seven rebounds and a block, while Kendra Lavery had seven points, four rebounds and three assists and Jesse VanNostrand chipped in with five points, three assists and two rebounds.

Paige Clinton led Clinton Community College with 22 points and five rebounds, while Avery Lambert had 12 points and seven rebounds and Lillian Perry added six assists, three points and three rebounds.

The Clinton men placed four players in double-figures.

Rijkaard Jean-Baptiste led the way with 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Ashani Nelson added 17 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and two assists and Chris Duesbury had 16 points and four assists to go with 10 points from Jafar Yahuza.

Matthew Boyle paced FMCC with 25 points and two rebounds, while Javan Johns had 19 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and two assists and Ashton Pardie chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.

The Raiders will travel to play Columbia-Greene Community College in a 1 p.m. game today before both teams close out their regular season Wednesday on the road at Hudson Valley Community College. The women’s game will tip off at 5 p.m. followed by the men at 7 p.m.
