Boys Basketball Roundup: Fort Plain outlasts Galway in overtime, 58-55

JOHNSTOWN — Troy Butler scored 15 points to lead Fort Plain to a 58-55 overtime victory over Galway in a Western Athletic Conference crossover game Friday at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

The Hilltoppers led 30-23 at the half before the Golden Eagles rallied in the second half to force overtime. Fort Plain regrouped to outscored Galway in overtime to earn the win. It was the fourth straight victory for the Hilltoppers.

Levi Thomas had 14 points for Fort Plain, while Robert Jordan added 12.

Carson Scribner scored 20 points to lead Galway, while Henry Flint added 13 points.

Fort Plain (15-5 overall) now awaits the pairings for the Section II Class C Tournament, which will be announced Wednesday.

Galway (6-13 overall) is scheduled to wrap up the regular season at Hoosic Valley on Tuesday.

Dante Calderone added eight points for the Patriots, who improved to 12-7 overall and 11-6 in Foothills Council play.

Owen Sherman scored 15 points to lead Schuylerville (4-13 Foothills), while Cayden Rutland added 11 points.

Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to travel to Scotia-Glenville for its regular-season finale Tuesday.

Cameron Darrow scored 13 points to lead South Glens Falls (3-14 overall), while Jon Maniacek and Jason Viger each had 11 points.
