Niagara CCC tops FMCC, 88-70
JOHNSTOWN — Fulton-Montgomery Community College’s Niamani Marshall turned in a 31-point performance but is was not enough as the Lady Raiders fell to undefeated Niagara County Community College 88-70 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at the Route 67 campus.
The Thunder Wolves (17-0) were led by Paige Emborsky’s 24 points, all coming from behind the 3-point arc. Aubrey Halloran hit for 15 points, while Alaina Forbes had 14 and Cierra Harrison turned in a 13 point, 18 rebound, seven assist effort for Niagara.
Marshall added seven rebounds, four steals and two assists to her game stats. Djenaba Ndiave shipped in with 19 points and five assists for the Lady Raiders, while Kerri Hauser pulled down 10 rebounds to go with four points, while Katie LaGrange added six points and seven rebounds and Jesse VanNostrand finished with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and three points. Destiny Prather chipped in with seven points and three rebounds for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders (6-4 overall, 1-1 conference) return to the court Saturday at 1 p.m. as the opening game of double-header action against Hudson Valley. The FMCC men (3-6 overall, 2-1 conference) are scheduled to tip off against HVCC at 3 p.m.
