Dillenback posts state-qualifying times in two events

SCHENECTADY — Gloversville-Mayfield’s Dane Dillenback posted a pair of state meet qualifying times at Saturday’s Schenectady Patriot Invitational at the Pat Riley Sports Center at Schenectady High School.

The sophomore swimmer finished third in the 50-yard freestyle, meeting the state standard (22.19) with his time of 21.95.

Dillenback also beat the state standard (48.76) with his runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.76.

Earlier this season Dillenback also met the state meet qualifying time of 53.95 in the 100-yard butterfly with his school-record time of 53.40.

Kazuma Lomanto placed 12th in the 200-yard freestyle with his time of 2:04.87 and placed 14th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.48.

Alex Payne placed 16th in the 500-yard freestyle with his time of 5:59.81, while Jacob Sweeney placed 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.57.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Dillenback, Payne, Lomanto and Sweeney placed eighth with a time of 3:38.97.

The Sea Dragons placed 10th in the meet with 76.5 points.

Minisink Valley won the team championship with 378 points, while Cornwall second with 306 and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake third with 236.

Foothills Council contenders Queensbury and Glens Falls finished fifth and ninth with 209 and 93 points respectively.
