Boys Basketball Roundup: Panthers defeat Indians

WELLS — Ethan Rohling scored 13 points and seven rebounds to lead Mayfield to a 58-43 victory over Wells in a non-league boys basketball game Monday.

The Panthers led 19-7 after one quarter on their way to the win.

Trevor Lehr and Aidan Halloran each had nine points for Mayfield (6-6 overall), while Britain Goodemote added eight points. Halloran also grabbed 12 rebounds for the Panthers.

Byron Stuart and Matt Richard each had 10 points to lead Wells (3-11 overall), which posted a 68-18 victory over Indian Lake-Long Lake last Thursday.

The Indians host the Orange on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Mayfield is scheduled to travel to Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.

NORTHVILLE — Jason Ellsworth scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Northville to a non-league victory over Heatly.

The Falcons led 30-7 at the half on their way to the win.

Daniel VanNostrand had 13 points for Northville (9-4 overall), while Wyatt Sira added 11 points.

Ryan Sedgwick scored 10 points to lead Heatly.

The Falcons are scheduled to host Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville on Friday at 7 p.m.

HERKIMER — Jordyn Lanaux finished with five 3-pointers on his way to a 36-point effort to lead Herkimer to a victory over Dolgeville.

Lanaux also had five rebounds, four assists and two blocks for the Magicians, who improved to 6-6 overall.

Kamryn Comstock had 16 points and eight rebounds for Dolgeville (4-7 overall), while Greg Gonyea and Connor Morse each had 13 points.

The Blue Devils are scheduled to travel to Poland on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game.

Carson Scribner had 12 points for the Golden Eagles (2-9 overall, 1-3 WAC).

Cameron Kenney scored 16 points to lead Middleburgh, while Andrew Johns added 13 points.

Galway is slated to travel to Schoharie on Wednesday.
