Boys Basketball Roundup: Mayfield boys lose to Schoharie

SCHOHARIE — Shane Helmstadt scored 18 points and eight rebounds to lead Schoharie to a 62-31 victory over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference boys basketball game Monday.

Quin Barton scored 12 points for the Indians, who led 15-2 after one quarter on their way to the win.

Fletcher Griffin and John Blackwood each had nine points for Schoharie.

Aidan Halloran scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Mayfield, while Britain Goodemote added 11 points.

Cal Insero had 14 points for the Bulldogs, Zach Brink scored 12 points and Mark Edwards added 10 points.

Andrew Johns scored 19 points to lead Middleburgh, while Taylor Olsen finished with 13 points. Brendan Henry added 11 points for the Knights.

FRANKFORT — Greg Gonyea scored 18 points for Dolgeville in a loss at Frankfort-Schuyler.

The Maroon Knights jumped out to a 28-10 lead after one quarter on their way to the win.

Elijah Morse, Connor Morse and Kyle Paracka all had eight points for Dolgeville (7-8 overall).

Fonda-Fultonville 76, Tamarac 51

CROPSEYVILLE — Jackson Atty connected on a school-record 11 3-pointers to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a non-league victory over Tamarac on Saturday.

Atty, who was 11-for-16 from behind the arc, finished with a game-high 46 points for the Braves.

Andrew Georgia added seven points and seven rebounds for FFCS (13-1 overall).

Patrick Mainello scored 10 points to lead Tamarac, while Jacob Barbera added nine points.
