Several area players named WAC boys soccer all-stars

After going unbeaten in Western Athletic Conference play this season, Galway was well represented on the WAC boys soccer all-star team.

Galway junior midfielder Charlie Clarke was named the WAC Hudson Division Most Valuable Player and a first-team Hudson Division all-star

The Golden Eagles also had junior keeper Henry Flint, junior forward Rowan Smith, senior defender Carter Scribner and junior midfielder Konstantin Friederich named first-team all-stars.

In addition to its first-team selections, Galway also had senior midfielder Carson Scribner and junior forward Braden Boudreau named second-team Hudson Division all-stars.

Fonda-Fultonville senior defender/midfielder Justin Newcomer and senior defender Matthew Wieczenski were named first-team Hudson Division all-stars, along with Mayfield senior forwards Trevor Lehr and Colby Brandow.

Canajoharie sophomore forward Cody Haig also was named to the Hudson Division first team.

Rounding out the first-team Hudson Division selections were Mekeel Christian Academy junior forward Len’s Lima and Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons senior forward Connor Barber.

Mayfield senior defender Gabriel Gifford and sophomore defender Jake Petoff were named Hudson Division second-team all-stars.

Fonda-Fultonville junior midfielder/forward Cody Hanson, Canajoharie senior midfielder Jake Nowalk and Fonda-Fultonville junior midfielder/forward Dylan Livingston were also named to the Hudson Division second team.

Rounding out the second-team Hudson Division all-stars were Mekeel Christian junior midfielder Toby Hvizdak, Bishop Gibbons senior defender Andrew Mautone, Mekeel Christian senior defender Devon Brooks and Bishop Gibbons junior forward Nicholas Gosh.

Mohawk Division

Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville’s Mason Snell and Andrew Snell were named first-team Mohawk Division all-stars.

Northville had senior forward Levi Morgan and freshman forward Jacob Frank earn first-team honors, while Fort Plain senior midfielder Ethan Reese also was named to the first team.

Schoharie senior midfielder Noah Fagnani was named the Mohawk Division MVP and a first-team all-star.

The Indians also had senior midfielder Derek Dietz, senior defender Fletcher Griffen and senior midfielder Dustin Bengtson named first-team Mohawk Division all-stars.

Rounding out the first-team selections in the Mohawk Division were Berne-Knox-Westerlo senior keeper Tyler Goodemote, Middleburgh junior forward Andrew Johns, Berne-Knox-Westerlo junior forward Ezeke Pulliam and Duanesburg senior midfielder Luke White.

OESJ had junior defenders Max Christensen and Jacob Snell named second-team Mohawk Division all-stars, while Northville junior forward Curtis Arnold and sophomore keeper Daniel VanNostrand also were named to the second team.

Fort Plain junior forward Joseph LeMoine and sophomore keeper Robert Jordan also were named second-team Mohawk Division all-stars.

Rounding out the second-team Mohawk Division all-stars were Schoharie sophomore forward Daniel Bernhardt, Schoharie sophomore midfielder Quin Barton, Middleburgh sophomore midfielder Kaurice Bell, Middleburgh eighth-grade forward Austin Johns, Berne-Knox-Westerlo senior midfielder Luke Valachovic and Duanesburg junior forward Nick Perillo.
