Rose leads FMCC past Corning, 6-2

CORNING — Dwight Rose netted three goals to lead Fulton-Montgomery Community College to a 6-2 victory over Corning Community College in a Region III men’s soccer contest Sunday.

Troy Ellis and Gaynor Leveridge each had a goal and an assist for the Raiders, while Patrick Palmer also scored.

Daniel Leach added two assists for FMCC, while Colbey Hime and Kevin Vargas each had one assist.

Jason Meneses made four saves to earn the win in goal for the Raiders.

On Saturday, FMCC lost 2-1 in double overtime at Jamestown Community College.

Axel Richardson scored the game-winning goal for Jamestown on an assist from Luuk Willemsen in the 108th minute.

Jesse DaCosta scored in regulation for Jamestown.

Patrick Palmer scored the lone goal for FMCC.

Jakob Moore made eight saves for Jamestown, while Meneses finished with nine stops for the Raiders.

FMCC (4-8 overall) is slated to host SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
