H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Broadalbin-Perth sweeps Scotia-Glenville

BROADALBIN — Olivia Fraser finished with seven digs, four aces, one kill and one assist to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 victory over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council volleyball match.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-9, 25-7 and 25-13.

It was the eighth straight win for Broadalbin-Perth.

Kassey Cassella posted five kills and an ace for B-P, while Kiaira Tomlinson had three kills.

Sierra Brodowski had one dig and one kill for Scotia-Glenville, while Lorelei Herrera had one block and one kill.

Broadalbin-Perth (11-1 overall, 9-1 Foothills) is scheduled to host Glens Falls on Friday at 6 p.m.

Johnstown 3, Amsterdam 0

JOHNSTOWN — Brianna Subik had six assists, four aces, two digs and a kill to lead Johnstown to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-13.

Anika Byrnes posted four aces, four digs and four kills for Johnstown, while Gabby Elwood added three kills, three digs and an ace. The Lady Bills snapped a three-match losing streak with the win.

Brianna Francisco finished with three kills and two blocks for Amsterdam, and Aracelis Muniz posted two aces, one digs, one kill and one block.

It was the eighth straight loss for the Lady Rams.

Johnstown (6-5 overall, 5-4 Foothills) is scheduled to host Hudson Falls on Friday at 6 p.m.

Amsterdam (1-12 overall, 1-10 Foothills) is slated to host Schuylerville today at 6 p.m.

WAC

Fonda-Fultonville 3, Mekeel Christian 0

FONDA — Marilyn Whitcavitch posted 10 aces, eight kills, three digs and three blocks to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Lady Braves won by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-14.

Julia Bagnardi had 17 assists, four aces and a dig for FFCS (8-2 overall, 7-1 WAC), Madisyn Dineen finished with five aces, three digs and two kills, and Krystal McSpirit posted seven kills and three blocks. Peyton Zilles added four aces and three digs for the Lady Braves.

Chloe Ekstein had three aces for Mekeel Christian (2-6 overall, 2-6 WAC), while Amelia Armao had four aces and two kills. Rose Serendensky added two aces and two kills for Mekeel Christian.

FFCS is slated to host Schoharie on Monday at 6 p.m.

Canajoharie-Fort Plain 3, Duanesburg 1

FORT PLAIN — Lauren Weinberger finished with 19 service points, 10 assists, five aces and three kills to lead Canajoharie-Fort Plain to a WAC victory over Duanesburg.

C-FP won by scores of 23-25, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-20.

Sydney Shepard had 10 kills, seven service points, three aces, two digs and a block for Canajoharie-Fort Plain (7-4 overall, 4-4 WAC), McKayla Hayner posted 11 points, four aces and a block, and Sarah Paradiso posted 10 points, four blocks and three aces.

Olivia Kennedy had four digs for C-FP, Zavia Allen had six points, and Bella Page finished with three kills and two digs.

Madison Meyer finished with nine points, five aces and five kills for Duanesburg, Grace Sexton had 10 points and three aces, and Lorel Johnson added 19 digs.

C-FP is slated to travel to Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest.

Mayfield 3, Schoharie 1

SCHOHARIE — Deandra Myers finished with 12 kills, eight digs, seven service points and two blocks to lead Mayfield to a WAC victory over Schoharie.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 18-25 and 25-14.

Lila King had 18 assists, 14 service points and a block for Mayfield (6-5 overall, 5-3 WAC), Madison Willis posted 13 points, 13 digs, 11 kills and six blocks, and Alissa Wilbur added seven digs, seven points, four kills and a block.

Alyssa Vangasbeck posted 18 service points, four kills and three aces for Schoharie (5-10 overall, 4-3 WAC), while Bridget Cipperly had 15 points and seven kills. Raquel Gerstenberger added 16 points, four kills and three aces for the Indians.

Mayfield is scheduled to travel to Gloversville today for a non-league match at 6 p.m.

Galway 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

BERNE — Amber Kolpakas had seven kills to help Galway to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-6, 25-9 and 25-20.

Kylee Decker had 14 service points, nine assists and three aces for Galway (10-1 overall, 9-0 WAC), while Jayden Devellis had 12 points, eight digs, three aces and two kills.

The Golden Eagles are slated to travel to the Shenendehowa Tournament on Saturday.
