H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Broadalbin-Perth sweeps Hudson Falls
HUDSON FALLS — Lily Mitchell finished with 24 assists, nine digs and two aces to help Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 victory over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball match Wednesday.
The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 26-24.
Eliana Fraser had 13 kills, nine digs, one block and one ace for Broadalbin-Perth (9-1 overall, 7-1 Foothills), while Sydney Rogers posted seven digs, six kills, three aces and a block.
Molli Burch recorded eight kills for Hudson Falls, Olivia Milligan had six kills and three blocks, and Madalyn Gaulin posted 13 assists and 10 digs. Madelyn Donlon added three service points and a kill for the Tigers.
Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to host Gloversville on Friday at 6 p.m.
Schuylerville 3, Johnstown 0
SCHUYLERVILLE — Jada Clarke posted six kills and two blocks to lead Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over Johnstown.
The Black Horses won by scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 26-24.
Saige Clarke had five kills for Schuylerville (5-8 overall, 2-7 Foothills), while Anastasia Koumanis posted seven assists.
Averie Doyle added six assists and three aces for the Black Horses.
Julie Wager had five kills and four digs for Johnstown (5-4 overall, 4-4 Foothills), while Sadie Blowers finished with four kills and three digs. Amber Tesi had nine kills, five digs, three blocks and three aces for the Lady Bills.
South Glens Falls 3, Amsterdam 0
SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Tayler Ostrander finished with 11 points and four digs to lead South Glens Falls to a sweep of Amsterdam in a Foothills Council match.
The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-9, 25-14 and 25-9.
Brooke Ruby finished with 22 assists for South Glens Falls (8-1 overall, 7-1 Foothills), while Grace Taylor had nine kills, nine points and a block. Haylee Scarincio recorded 17 service points and 10 digs for the Bulldogs.
Aracelis Muniz posted two kills for Amsterdam (1-10 overall, 1-8 Foothills), Katelyn Demitraszek had three kills and a block, and Brianna Francisco posted three blocks, two kills and an ace.
The Lady Rams are scheduled to travel to Scotia-Glenville today for a 6 p.m. contest.
Glens Falls 3, Scotia-Glenville 0
GLENS FALLS — Sarah Phinney finished with five kills and three aces to help Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Scotia-Glenville.
The Indians won by scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-21.
Ella Kules had 19 assists and four aces for Glens Falls (5-6 overall, 3-6 Foothills), while Jensen Brand and Anna Wilson each had four digs. Brooke Vassar added four digs and four kills for the Indians.
Shanna Ludovici had nine assists, two blocks and an ace for Scotia-Glenville (0-10 overall, 0-7 Foothills), while Sierra Brodowski had four service points and an ace. Lorelei Herrera added two kills and two blocks for the Tartans.
Middleburgh 3, OESJ 2
MIDDLEBURGH — Kenidee Oare finished with a 12 assists, 11 blocks, seven digs and two kills for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville in a five-set Western Athletic Conference loss to Middleburgh on Tuesday.
The Knights won the first two sets by scores of 25-13 and 25-17 before OESJ forced the match to a fifth set with a 26-24 win in set three and a 25-22 win in set four. In the final set, Middleburgh earned the win, 25-23.
Kayla Hine posted 11 digs for the OESJ, while Kaydence Souza added 19 digs.
OESJ (1-6 overall, 1-6 WAC) is scheduled to host Mayfield today at 6 p.m.
