Girls Soccer Roundup: Moore reaches milestone in Northville victory

NORTHVILLE — Brytney Moore finished with three goals and an assist to lead Northville to a 7-0 victory over Mekeel Christian Academy in a Western Athletic Conference contest Wednesday at Prospect Street Field.

Moore surpassed the 100-goal mark for her career with the effort. Moore, a senior, now has 101 career goals and 30 this season.

Grace Forsey posted two goals and an assist for the Lady Falcons, while Kaytelenn VanHeusen had a goal and an assist.

Jaycee Frasier also scored for Northville, while Ciara Thompson and Madison Whittaker each had an assist.

Emily Shepard made four saves to post the shutout in goal for Northville, which outshot Mekeel Christian by a 27-4 margin.

Northville (11-3 overall, 8-1 WAC) is off until next Wednesday when it is slated to travel to Middleburgh for a 4:15 p.m. contest.

OESJ 2, Fonda-Fultonville 1

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Isabella Masi and Abby Johnson scored to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a WAC victory.

Alexis Klock assisted on Johnson’s goal for the Lady Wolves.

Stella Williams scored the lone goal for Fonda-Fultonville.

Ashlee Shelmandine finished with six saves for OESJ (8-2-2 overall, 6-1-1 WAC), while Emma Crahan made nine saves for the Lady Braves (3-12 overall, 3-7 WAC).

The Lady Wolves are slated to travel to Middleburgh on Friday for a 6 p.m. contest, while Fonda-Fultonville is off until next Wednesday when it is scheduled to travel to Fort Plain for a 4:15 p.m. game.

Canajoharie 2, Fort Plain 1

CANAJOHARIE — Caitlyn Baker and Mizel Fowler scored to lead Canajoharie to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Fort Plain.

Olivia Shults had an assist for the Lady Cougars.

Cassandra Herron scored the lone goal for Fort Plain (3-7-2 overall, 1-5-2 WAC).

Hunter Pitcher made six saves for Canajoharie (7-7 overall, 6-3 WAC), while Jenna Reese made 17 stops for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Canajoharie is off until next Wednesday when it is slated to host Schoharie at 4:15 p.m.

Fort Plain is slated to travel to Mayfield on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.

Schoharie 7, Mayfield 0

SCHOHARIE — Katie Krohn finished with three goals and two assists to lead Schoharie to a WAC victory over Mayfield.

Megan Krohn posted two goals for the Indians, while MacKenzie Barton and Haley Drinon each scored once. Jacquelyn Sulllivan and Shawna Bailey each had an assist for Schoharie (10-0 WAC).

Maddie Bland made four saves to post the shutout in goal for the Indians.

Kat Knecht made nine saves for Mayfield (4-9-1 overall, 4-5-1 WAC), which is scheduled to host Fort Plain on Friday at 7 p.m.

Galway 2, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

GALWAY — Ruth Reichard and Anna Meisenburg scored to lead Galway to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Izzy Mancini had two assists for the Golden Eagles (4-9-1 overall, 3-5-1 WAC).

Hannah French and Arianna Persaud combined to make seven saves to share the shutout in goal for Galway.

Kaelyn LoBalbo made five saves for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (1-8-1 WAC).

Galway is scheduled to host Mekeel Christian Academy on Friday at 4:15 p.m.

Foothills Council

Scotia-Glenville 5, Amsterdam 0

SCOTIA — Lucy Crounse netted three goals to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council South Division victory over Amsterdam.

Megan Steele had a goal and an assist for the Tartans, while Rylee O’Connor also scored.

Morgan Nealon, Katelyn Adis and Annamarie Piccirillo each had an assist for Scotia-Glenville, which improved to 9-0-1 in Foothills Council play.

Camryn Verdi made three saves to post the shutout in goal for the Tartans.

Karen Troche made 18 stops for Amsterdam (2-11 overall, 1-9 Foothills).

Queensbury 10, Schuylerville 0

QUEENSBURY — Christina Cummings scored four goals to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council victory over Schuylerville.

Brigid Duffy had three goals and an assist for the Spartans, while Izzy Dennison registered two goals and four assists.

Sophia Keshmiri had a goal and two assists for Queensbury and Allie Basilia added an assist.

Kaileigh Hunt finished with five saves to post the shutout in goal for Queensbury.

Claire Pelletier-Hoblock made nine saves for Schuylerville.

South Glens Falls 3, Glens Falls 2

GLENS FALLS — Marlee James scored all three goals to lead South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council North Division contest.

Hannah Breen and Zoe Lanfear each had an assist for the Bulldogs (8-6-1 overall, 8-3-1 Foothills).

Clara Avery and Emily Lunt scored for Glens Falls (1-10-1 overall, 1-9-1 Foothills), while Alexa Hill had two assists.

Robin Gorton made 14 saves for the Indians.
