FMCC volleyball goes 1-2 at pod play

HERKIMER — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College volleyball team went 1-2 during pod play at Herkimer College on Saturday.

The Lady Raiders posted a 3-2 win over Genesee Community College and lost 3-0 to both Monroe Community College and Finger Lakes Community College.

Against Genesee, FMCC won by scores of 14-25, 25-23, 28-26, 19-25 and 18-16.

Emily Mormando had 33 assists, nine kills, five digs and two aces for the Lady Raiders, while Olivia Casey posted 24 digs, nine kills and three aces.

Macenzie Ward had 21 kills and 10 digs for FMCC, Danika Dygon posted three kills and three digs, and Taylor Denmark finished with nine digs, three kills and two aces. Mallory Baldwin added five digs and two kills for the Lady Raiders.

Against Finger Lakes, FMCC lost by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-23. Ward posted 11 kills, 10 digs and three aces for the Lady Raiders, while Mormando finished with 18 assists and two digs. Denmark posted three digs, Casey had seven kills and three digs and Dygon records three kills. Baldwin added two digs for the Lady Raiders.

FMCC forfeited its match with Monroe.

FMCC (6-13 overall) is scheduled to travel to North Country Community College on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match.
