Boys Soccer Roundup: OESJ gets past Fonda-Fultonville
FONDA — Mason Snell finished with two goals and an assist to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a 3-1 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest.
Ian Hayes also scored for the Wolves. while Andrew Snell and Colton Cristiansen each had an assist.
Dylan Livingston scored the lone goal for Fonda-Fultonville on an assist from Cody Hanson.
Travis LaFountain made four saves for OESJ (7-4 overall, 7-3 WAC), while Jacob Sisco made five stops for FFCS.
Fonda-Fultonville (4-7-1 overall, 3-5-1 WAC) is slated to travel to Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons on Friday for a 4:15 p.m. contest.
OESJ is slated to face Maple Hill in the opening round of the Maple Hill Tournament on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Fort Plain 4, Canajoharie 3
FORT PLAIN — Joe LeMoine scored twice to lead Fort Plain to a WAC victory over Canajoharie on Wednesday.
Ethan Schoch finished with a goal and an assist for the Hilltoppers, while Ethan Reese also scored. Clayton Welch added an assist for Fort Plain.
Alex Blanchard scored twice for Canajoharie (2-11 overall, 2-7 WAC), while Cody Haig also scored. Ethan Sala and Braden Greenslete each had an assist for the Cougars.
Germond Caelan made two saves for the Hilltoppers (5-7-1 overall, 4-4-1 WAC), while Andrew Meka finished with two stops for the Cougars.
Fort Plain is slated to host Mayfield on Friday at 4:15 p.m., while Canajoharie is scheduled to host Northville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
Schoharie 4, Mayfield 3, OT
MAYFIELD — Noah Fagnani netted three goals to power Schoharie to an overtime victory over Mayfield on Wednesday.
Fagnani netted the game-winning goal in the first overtime.
Derek Dietz also scored for the Indians, while Dustin Bengtson and Danny Bernhardt each had two assists.
Trevor Lehr scored twice for Mayfield (4-9 overall, 4-5 WAC), while Britain Goodemote also scored.
Bailey Smart made three saves for Schoharie (10-1 WAC).
Owen Graf and Ethan Rohling combined to make four saves for Mayfield, which is slated to travel to Fort Plain for a 4:15 p.m. contest Friday.
Northville 3, Mekeel Christian 0
SCOTIA — Levi Morgan finished with a goal and an assist to lead Northville to a WAC victory over Mekeel Christian Academy at Maalwyck Park on Wednesday.
Jacob Frank and Curtis Arnold also scored for the Falcons, who outshot the Lions by a 25-9 margin.
Daniel VanNostrand made seven saves to post the shutout in goal for Northville (8-4-1 overall, 6-2-1 WAC).
Ilan Martuscello finished with nine stops for Mekeel Christian (5-5-1 overall, 4-4-1 WAC).
Northville is slated to travel to Canajoharie on Friday for a 4:15 p.m. contest.
Galway 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2, OT
BERNE — Carson Scribner scored in overtime to lift Galway to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Wednesday.
Charlie Clarke assisted on the goal for the Golden Eagles. It was his second assist of the day.
Rowan Smith scored twice in regulation for Galway (10-1-1 overall, 10-0 WAC), while Scribner also had an assist.
Luke Valachovic and Mark Edwards scored for Berne-Knox-Westerlo (3-5-1 WAC).
Henry Flint made six saves for Galway, which outshot the Bulldogs by a 30-7 margin.
Tyler Goodemote finished with 22 saves for Berne-Knox-Westerlo.
Galway is scheduled to travel to Scotia on Friday to face Mekeel Christian Academy at Maalwyck Park at 4:15 p.m.
Middleburgh 6, Duanesburg 1
DUANESBURG — Austin Johns finished with two goals and an assist to lead Middleburgh to a WAC victory over Duanesburg on Wednesday.
Andrew Johns had two assists for the Knights, while Kaurice Bell and Troy Cammer each had an assist.
Jonathan Papino scored the lone goal for Duanesburg.
Michael Terrell made four saves for Middleburgh.

BROADALBIN — Hunter Monks finished with a goal and an assist to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a victory over Amsterdam in a Foothills Council South Division boys soccer contest at Patriot Field on Tuesday.
Ian Schwartz and Sam Rogers also scored for B-P, while Kyle Denman finished with two assists. Cam Polikowski also had an assist for the Patriots.
Jack Marsden made three saves to post the shutout win in goal for B-P (10-3 overall, 7-3 Foothills), which posted its seventh shutout of the season.
Lucca Quatrini made 15 stops for Amsterdam (1-10 overall, 1-9 Foothills), which is scheduled to travel to Hudson Falls on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
