Girls Soccer Roundup: Lady Dragons lose at Scotia-Glenville

SCOTIA — Lucy Crounse finished with two goals to lead Scotia-Glenville to a 4-1 victory over Gloversville in a Foothills Council South Division girls soccer contest Wednesday.

Brooklyn Drago and Annamarie Piccirillo also scored for the Tartans, while Morgan Nealon and Rylee O’Connor each had an assist.

Tyler Mee scored the lone goal for Gloversville (5-2 overall, 3-1 Foothills).

Camryn Verdi made four saves for Scotia-Glenville, while Meredith Dennie made nine saves for Gloversville.

WAC

OESJ 6, Galway 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Ashley Engle finished with a goal and two assists to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a victory over Galway in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer contest Wednesday.

Bella Masi, Abby Johnson, Sydney Schell and Sydney Eggleston also scored for the Lady Wolves.

Alexis Mumford added an assist for OESJ (4-1-1 overall, 3-0 WAC), which outshot Galway by a 19-1 margin.

Ashlee Shelmandine made one save to post the shutout in goal for the Lady Wolves.

Hannah French (10 saves) and Ruth Reichard (8 saves) combined to make 18 saves for Galway (1-5 overall, 1-2 WAC).

Canajoharie 5, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 1

CANAJOHARIE — Caitlyn Baker scored twice to lead Canajoharie to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Kylee Rickard had a goal and an assist for the Lady Cougars, while Vanessa VanSlyke and Krista Clemishaw also scored.

Mizel Fowler, Giana Murphy and Olivia Shults each had an assist for Canajoharie.

Clair Seram scored the lone goal for Berne-Knox-Westerlo

Hunter Pitcher finished with five saves for Canajoharie (2-4 overall, 2-1 WAC), while Kaelyn LoBalbo added 15 saves.

Duanesburg 6, Mekeel Christian 0

DUANESBURG — Taylor Lawrence netted three goals to lead Duanesburg to a WAC victory over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Valerie Schaeffer had a goal and an assist for the Eagles, while Olivia Harris and Alex Moses also scored. Sam Kornbrek and Emelina Rieseler each had an assist for the Eagles.

Allison O’Hanlon made three saves to post the shutout in goal for Duanesburg.

Mia Biscossi made seven saves for Mekeel Christian.

Schoharie 5, Middleburgh 0

SCHOHARIE — Katie Krohn finished with three goals to lead Schoharie to a WAC victory over Middleburgh.

Megan Krohn posted two goals for the Indians, while Maddie Phelan added an assist.

Alyssia Bleau made three saves to post the shutout in goal for Schoharie.

Cameryn Shultes made nine saves for Middleburgh.

Northern Soccer League

Crown Point 9, Wells 1

CROWN POINT — Makenna Munson and Sierra Harris each finished with two goals and three assists to help Crown Point to a victory over Wells.

Madison Munson, Gabrielle Mazzotte, Lauren Kimball, Mya Pertak and Brooke Plunkett also scored for the Panthers.

Alexis Brooks scored the lone goal for Wells (0-1 overall).

Minor Vargas made 33 saves for the Indians.

Non-league

Broadalbin-Perth 1, Fonda-Fultonville 0

BROADALBIN — Lauralie Grainer scored the game’s only goal in the second half to lift Broadalbin-Perth to a non-league victory over Fonda-Fultonville at Patriot Field.

Rose Barnhart assisted on the goal for the Lady Patriots.

Caitlin Palmateer made two saves to post the shutout in goal for B-P (6-2 overall), which outshot FFCS by a 13-4 margin.

Emma Crahan made 11 saves for Fonda-Fultonville (1-7 overall).
