Boys Soccer Roundup: Arnold nets two to lead Northville to WAC victory over Bishop Gibbons

NORTHVILLE — Curtis Arnold scored twice to lead Northville to a 4-1 victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest Wednesday.

Wyatt Sira and Josiah Jensen also scored for the Falcons, while Jacob Frank had three assists.

Connor Barber scored the lone goal for Bishop Gibbons (1-7 overall, 0-6 WAC).

Daniel VanNostrand made two saves for Northville (5-3 overall, 4-2 WAC), which finished with a 22-3 advantage in shots.

Nicholas Kownack and Bruce Campbell combined to make 16 saves for Bishop Gibbons.

Galway 2, OESJ 1

GALWAY — Braden Boudreau and Konstantin Friederich scored first-half goals to lead Galway to a WAC victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Anthony Powers had an assist for the Golden Eagles.

Andrew Snell scored the lone goal for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Henry Flint made four saves for Galway (6-1 overall, 6-0 WAC), which outshot the Wolves by a 9-4 margin.

Travis LaFountain made four saves for OESJ (3-2 overall, 3-2 WAC).

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2, Canajoharie 1

BERNE — Cal Insero and Luke Valachovic scored to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a WAC victory over Canajoharie.

Cody Haig scored the lone goal for the Cougars (2-5 overall, 2-2 WAC).

Schoharie 3, Middleburgh 1

MIDDLEBURGH — Noah Fagnani scored all three goals to lead Schoharie to a WAC victory over Middleburgh.

Derek Dietz had two assists for the Indians, while Dustin Bengtson had one assist.

Andrew Johns scored the lone goal for Middleburgh.

Bailey Smart had seven saves for Schoharie.

Michael Terrell finished with eight saves for Middleburgh.

Mekeel Christian 7, Duanesburg 0

SCOTIA — Len’s Lima finished with four goals and an assist to lead Mekeel Christian Academy to a WAC victory over Duanesburg.

Luke Kniese scored twice for the Lions, while Owen Dussault also scored.

Ilan Martuscello made seven saves to post the shutout in goal for Mekeel Christian.

Robert Noviczski finished with four saves for Duanesburg.

Keene 5, Wells 1

KEENE — Alp Tas had a goal and two assists to lead Keene to a victory over Wells.

Shervon Dick, Nevin Dockery, Will Tansey and Aiden Lopez also scored for Keene, which outshot Wells by a 13-3 margin.

Daniel Johnson scored the lone goal for Wells (1-3 overall, 1-3 NSL).
