Mohawks romp to 12-3 win over Rapids

WATERTOWN — DJ Poteet connected for a single, triple and a home run to lead the Amsterdam Mohawks to a 12-3 victory over Watertown in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball action Monday.

Poteet also drove in two runs and scored three times for the Mohawks (29-8).

Sam Zayicek drove in two runs with two hits for Amsterdam, while Dalton Reese and Richie Barrella also has two RBIs on two hits.

Khale Showers led the Rapids (15-22) with a pair of singles.

The Mohawks return to action tonight at Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park with a East Division game against the Albany Dutchmen.

First pitch, on Autism Awareness Night, is slated for 6:45 p.m.
