Vintage baseball game, hall of fame inductions set to take place June 22
GLOVERSVILLE — The Fulton County Baseball & Sports Hall of Fame will hold its 2019 inductions on June 22 at Parkhurst Field in between innings of a Vintage Baseball Game.
The 2019 Hall of Fame induction class will feature local Baseball Legends Brian Mee and Fred Webb.
The Andy Fusco Contributors Division of the HOF also will be inducting F. Rulison and Sons, the J.A. Peach Sporting Goods Company and the M. Denkert Company.
A vintage baseball game will be played that day using the MLB rules in place in 1895 that will take place between the Mountain Athletic Club from Fleischmanns and the local A., J. & G Team.
The A., J. & G team will be comprised of former Gloversville Little Leaguers who once played at the historic Parkhurst Field site.
Both teams will be wearing turn of the century style uniforms, while using period authentic gloves, balls & bats of 1895.
All five HOF nominees will be inducted between innings during the game starting in the first inning.
Brian Mee will be in attending to accept his Hall of Fame plaque and members and employees of Fred Webb, the F. Rulison and Sons Company, the J.A. Peach Company and M. Denkert and Company will be on hand to accept their Hall of Fame plaques.
Gates are set open at 11:30 a.m., with the Hall of Fame inductions and vintage game beginning at noon. There will be a $5 admission fee with all proceeds benefiting the Parkhurst Field Renovation Project.
Little League players wearing their uniforms will be admitted for free.
Parkhurst Field is located at 50 Harrison St. in Gloversville.
The Parkhurst Field Museum, which chronicles the history of the facility since 1906, will be open all day.
