Mohawks roll past Mohawk Valley, 15-3
AMSTERDAM — One night after Mohawk Valley handed Amsterdam its first loss of the season, the Mohawks gained a measure of revenge Saturday, rolling to a 15-3 victory over the DiamondDawgs in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Shuttleworth Park.
The Mohawks pounded out 18 hits in the win.
Geordon Blanton was 5-for-6 with a double and four runs scored for Amsterdam, JD Mundy had two doubles, a single, two RBIs and three runs scored, and Max Costes was 3-for-3 with a home run, double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Michael Turconi was 3-for-5 with a double, and three runs scored for the Mohawks, Mitch Hartigan had a single, double, RBIs and scored a run, and Kevin Jimenez had a grand slam in the third inning.
Dylan Klock, an Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville graduate, was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored for Mohawk Valley. Kyle Maurice had two singles for the DiamondDawgs, while Kyle Johnson had a single, an RBI and scored two runs.
Amsterdam (5-1 overall) is scheduled to travel to Boonville today to face Adirondack at 6:35 p.m.
