Mohawks defeat Adirondack, 11-5

BOONVILLE — Geordon Blanton had a solo home run, two singles and scored two runs to help Amsterdam post an 11-5 victory over Adirondack in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest Sunday.

Julio Cortez also homered for the Mohawks and finished with two RBIs. Michael Turconi had a single, double and scored a run for Amsterdam, while Kevin Jimenez had two singles, two RBIs and scored a run.

Alec Burns and Joe Georgini each had a double and a single for Adirondack (1-7 overall). Georgini also had four RBIs. Peter Cosentino had two singles and an RBI for the Trailblazers, while Connor Hamilton added a double.

Amsterdam (6-1 overall) is scheduled to host Oneonta today at 6:45 p.m. at Shuttleworth Park.
